Serendipity + Waiting In Vain

When I arrived home this morning after a wonderful night, I opened my PC and I felt like I need to watch the movie Serendipity starring John Cusack and Kate Bekinsale again.

To make the long story short (and for those who haven’t seen the movie), it’s about Jonathan and Sara, two strangers who met on a bustling shopping day in the winter of 1990. Their paths collide in the mad holiday rush and became victims of mutual attraction. Even if they were both involved in another relationship, Jonathan and Sara spend the evening wandering around Manhattan. But, when the night reaches its end, the two were forced into determining some kind of next step. Jonathan suggests an exchange of phone numbers, but Sara proposes an idea that will allow fate to take control of the future. If they are meant to be together, she tells him, they will find their way back into one another’s lives. A few years later, Jonathan and Sara’s lives have taken drastically different courses, and now each is faced with the prospect of marrying another person. But they’ve decided to locate each other by whatever means possible.

Sweet isn’t it?

Also, when I turned my iTunes on shuffle, out of nowhere, this song by Annie Lennox played. Its like magic!

For me, it means that no matter how perfect the situation is right now; like you feel that you are meant to be and everything is perfect and no matter how deep your feelings for a person is, sometimes you have to put it on hiatus because that person is not ready yet to take that next level. Or sometimes, he/she needs to find him/herself or fix something.

It’s not easy; sad even. I think that person should really have the courage and be strong to face this kind of situation. But if you really have feelings for that person, you should understand, give way and also be prepared for whats coming your way. So it is necessary not to demand nor expect to avoid hurt.

I’m not really sure if it’s just coincidence but for sure, both were describnig what I’m feeling right now.
